transport case for G11

I've seen this thread and was wondering if anyone had anything to add.

The Storm iM2750 and Pelican 1620 cases appear to be big enough to hold just the head.

This GOPAK would have space to hold the Gemini and cables.

It does not fit in the Craftsman case Bunnings are selling without removing the motors.

A case for the G11 is something I have not thought about yet. I still use the original placking. However those prices make it more worthwhile to custom make my own from 10mm ply. That way I can make specific places for all components although I think I would put the counterweight in a separate box else it would be too heavy to lift.

When I get "a round tuit" I will post the details.

Here is another place with some slightly cheaper Pelican Storm cases. Sadly it's all too expensive for me to consider ATM.

maybe the IM2620 (with foam) for $375 will be enough.

The IM2620 seems a bit small. 508 x 356 x 254 internal doesn't leave much foam between the head and the case.

How long that would survive depends on how often you move it, and the CKS knobs need the cutouts changed.

How heavy would you expect a timber case to be? The IM2750 with foam is 8.4Kg plus the 17Kg for the G11. You are already reaching OH&S handling limits, even without the counterweight bar.

I have no idea of the weight till I do the design. I would expect it to be around 10 KG. OH&G limits (assumed to be 25KG) won't be my primary concern. As long as it will fit in the wagon and Trevor can lift it that is all I would be aiming at.
