Hi guys
I bought this ProStar OTA as a guidescope, but had some problems with the focuser - the focus tensioner thumb screw hole has a worn-out thread so it doesn't fit anymore (so the focuser draw tube currently won't stay in place). I tried to drill and tap a new thread (M4->M5) but I think I don't think I did it successfully as the threading on it also came loose (I'm useless with DIY stuff
) - see the 4th pic below for what I'm talking about
However, the tube/optics are in great condition - see attached photos. It's an all-metal tube with a Crayford focuser (2inch), FL=500m, F5.5, 90mm apature. It has it's own tube ring (see pic) but I'll also throw in some custom made guide rings that have allan key adjustment screws to for centering. It also has a 2>1.25 inch adapter for the focuser. I'm willing to ship it anywhere in Aus if needed, or pickup from Brisbane is available as well.
So if you have a spare focuser lying around, or are happy to drill/tap an M6 thread into the existing focuser and want a good solid ST refractor, this is probably for you!
I will of course tape the drawtube so it doesn't slide in and out of the focuser.
