[vanity] SW Black Diamond owners - what colour Moonlite would you get?

I was thinking blue would be nice with the black OTA, but the black is kind of speckled with metallic flecks that look yellow/orange/red sort of colour. Check out some of the available colours here: http://www.focuser.com/products/focu...-drawtube2.jpg and have a vote purely based on what you reckon would look best.

Too hard to match to the ota, so just pick the color you like best. Black is boring. I like the blue and green, but violet, gold and red aren't bad either .

Black and then all the others!!!!
Black gos with every thing.
Red looks like a sporty car and the blue is good coz blue is always good every one knows that.
Green is minty!!!! Never noticed that before. I like mint!
The gold is pretty stylie and chicks luv gold.
Orange is like copper and copper is my fav metal so thats another top pick.
That leaves the voilet which I always reckoned looked gay until I saw that pic linked below and there it really looks awesome!!!
So can I have all?

I voted Blue but I reckon Black would look great too.

Out of interest, what focuser are you planning to purchase? Because getting a Moonlite is definately in my shopping list for my SW Black Diamond. Interested to know how it all goes.

Red makes cars go fast. I suppose it'll give you a two or three stop advantage over your competitors.

I really like the blue and gold. If I was going down the Moonlite path for my refractor, I'd have gone red to match the guidescope and also the finish on the dew shield of the ED127.

Is your new toy black? And, does it have any stenciled text on the tube? Try and match that.

The DC motorised one for Newtonians and the universal kit.

The stencilled text etc is all white, but white isn't an option for colours. Red gives me a 2-3 stop advantage, eh? Hmm...

Yes, the gold looks sweet on the Celestrons.

You guys voting for blue - do you have Black Diamond OTAs, or are you just imagining a black OTA with a blue focuser? The black isn't really black, it has these yellow/orange metallic flecks in it.

I have/had a black diamond SCT and I think all of the colors would look good on it, thus my recommendation to simply pick the color you like best without regard for the ota. Black is the easiest match, but it is deathly boring to look at (IMHO). All telescopes/tripods should be white or light colored so you can see the things in the darkness.

My red trailer used to go faster when it was connected to a red car!

I like black and red (no, I'm not a Bombers supporter).

I have a red Moonlite focusser coming on the SDM, complementing beautifully Peter's standard vanish - it will look superb! (Pic is of raw wood.)

I had a closer look at the colours last night and am leaning towards the gold/orange colour.

Thanks for your thoughts, all.

PS - my silver 125i will take any of your red cars any day...

Any of the colours would go well with the black refractor. I bought some dyes off Ron a while ago for my home anodising line and they are all very striking colours. Just for the record red cars are not fastest, white cars are simply because adding colour adds weight (about 10kg on a WRX) which is why we always painted the race cars white.
