Saturn's moons...

Hey Guys,

I recently got a 8" Dob, and had a look at saturn last night. very clear viewing, could see titan and a few other moon's surrounding.

I'm just wondering how many moon's can we see with a 8" scope?

any help with this would be great!

Sid,

Apart from Titan, you may perhaps see another 4 moons.
This Sky and Telescope webpage is handy for Saturn. The JavaScript utility will allow you to identify the moons.

Are you using default eye piece (25mm, 10mm)?
Did you use any filters as well?

didnt use any filters, just viewed it with a 25mm, 20mm and 10mm.. it was with the 10mm that i noticed a few small objects surrounding the planet.. looked like there were 5 or 6 moons, but i just wanted to see if it was possible to see them with my scope..
