Meteor Strikes Johannesburg on Saturday Night

it looks like it exploded just before it hit the ground.

Love to witness one as big as that !

Unfortunately South Africa have a law that all meteorites belong to the state , even if it landed on private land they could not keep it .

Our laws differ In Australia , in W.A. , S.A , N.T. the public are not allowed to hunt meteorites .
In NSW , VIC & Qld its legal to collect & sell them but a export permit is needed for overseas sales .
Sorry I'm not sure about Tassie .

Some meteorites are worth far more per gram then gold
