Ah the beauty of mathematics.

Makes my computer program to generate the Mandelbrot set in 2D look positively puny.

Very nice work. But as usual nature has been at it for four billion years and has beaten us to it. Fibonacci also comes to mind.

These same simple rules are used to generate the complex structures in your lungs and vascular system. They are most probably encoded in the 'junk' DNA that does not code for any thing yet.

Thanks for the link.

I remember first creating mandelbrot images on the familys 80186 (XT) computer in CGA graphics. Would leave it on for up to 20 hours to generate 1 image. How times have changed!

Its amazing how patient we were with our computers in those days. But then, what options did we have? Log tables perhaps?
