registax fail to decompress

Ive taken video of jupiter first time after pc service.
When I select a video which is an .avi, it fails to open, fails to decompress.
Have no idea what to do, any help would be great..

Download a copy of Virtual Dub, if you haven't got it already.
Load your .avi up then save it as "old format .avi" then run that through Registax.
Or, still in Virtual Dub, load the .avi, then "save image sequence" and then you can load the individual frames into Registax.

Vitual dub. easy worked it out did it all good.
Was thinking i had stayed out in 4 degrees for 7 hours for nothing..

Make sure you're using the right codec when recording, and make sure you install divx and other codec packs to your new computer.

Oh and use Registax 5.
