I would agree with the turning left thing. I thought the apperance of a collision might just be an optical illusion, but I tried it out and doesn't work. See attchment.
given that tho chrissy, they'd all be giving way to eachother and no one would move
Are we talking about UK or OZ here. In UK they would wait until one drive dies of old age or they build a roundabout,
but here at least one would just floor it - "I told you I could make it"
Yeah I vote for left turning. However it does say they all go forward. I suppose the left turning is forward.
Hi Paul
I assumed that each driver is moving forward in the reference frame of their own motor vehicle, so even though they are "turning left", from their own perspective, they and the motor vehicle are still moving forward.
I shied away from using the intersection as the reference frame.
I can only assume they all turn left. It says "drive forward and continue their journey"
it does not say "drive straight ahead". Their journey, in that case, must have been around the corner ,and to acheive this they must use forward motion to make the car turn!
Does anyone have the correct answer for this. Like to know whether we are correct or not.
Yeah, I found it. I just went to google and typed in "Conundrum #11 Tricky Intersection" and about the second one was an ABC site with the same question (and answer).
