Solar Filters

Hi all,

I've recently become interested in solar viewing and have been looking for a filter to suit my 70mm Sky-Watcher refractor. I came across these http://www.identi-view.com/filterinfo.htm through a google search and discovered that BinTel apparently carry them. Has anyone here used them? Opinions? I'm looking for something in the <$150 region to start. I don't expect to see anything much with these... I know it's not going to give me detail like a Hydrogen-Alpha scope just looking for a place to start with limited funds.

Cheers
Wade

The JMB glass filters are very good. Everything in the following album was taken through one:

I even have a pair of them for my binoculars

Eric

Or, and without wanting to cut out the dealers here, if you are a bit of a DIY sort, build one yourself.
Purchase some Baader AstroSolar filter material and make one.
