Ice in Space 10 September Star party (Postponed due to Weather)
Hi all,
Well Bob (gadget) has made the map and now I need definite numbers for the viewing night. Sorry, for the new thread but it was getting cluttered.
The site is definitely in Mount Barker.
These people I know are attending.
EXSFO
GADGET
ASIMOV (to be confirmed)
Rumples riot
Astroman
I have one address to send a map to so far, so if you want to go send me a private message with your address and I will send you a map.
We will hit the site before dark, setup and have a barbie. So I am thinking that from 5pm onwards will be good.
So whos in? You guys wanted this now, you need to let me know if you are coming.

Thought I'd answer your question over here Paul.
I'd love to go ,but my daughter has a Tournament of Minds challenge first thing Sunday morning in Adelaide. With 4 kids theres always something happening with sports, clubs and events during the school terms. Maybe next time, if there's one during the summer months I'd probably be a certainty as swimming is the only sport we care about then, and thats purely only for fun.
Have a good night guys and post some pics for us.

Just a querey, you have my address Paul? I sent it in a PM ages ago.
BTW keep an eye on the forecast, early reports indicate showers during the day, but hopefully clearing a little by evening. It will be quite damp though.

Yeah Andrew I have your address and I had planned to send the mail on Wednesday, just wanted to give everyone time to get their dibs in first.
If weather is going to look bad we may have to postpone until next month. But we will see how things go during the week.

Well seems like the weather is going to spoil the show at our star party. At this stage I will leave it until 12pm on Saturday before cancelling. From what I can see though, the weather is going to be gale force winds and bucketing down. Damn weather gods cannot be appeased.
If this does happen, we will simply make it a month later if that suits.

Sorry guys and gals there are several of us that think we should postpone the astro night to somewhere around October 10 due to the bad weather here. Sorry if this has inconvenienced anyone, but weather here is forecast for showers and squally conditions. Now have lots of cloud about and a low is moving across the Ayre Peninsula.
Anyone got any suggestions for what date in October, not the first weekend in though. I will be in Perth so will not be able to attend.
Suggestions?

Yep Weather looks a little like rubbish tonight, few showers about with possible hail and a possible rumble. Not very good Observing weather. So for other dates I can attend the 8th or 15th or 22nd, but not the 1st or the 29th. SOns Birthday party on the 29th (can't miss that) I am away first week also (in flinders).

Guess what the crows are going to loose and the power are going to win. However, I am not going to miss a night under the stars unless it is raining. Unfortunately that is what is happening tonight.
Guess I will have to go to my mates house and wear my Port colours. They all barrack for the crows. I will laugh if Port win.

Well we all know who won and it was an absolute pasting. The power were snuffed out, yet again.

Oh well glad we made the finals and at least won the first final. Disappointed that the power simply failed to perform this year. Still we made if higher up than most teams in the comp and that is better than I thought mid year.
Also don't crow too much Crows supporters. We still lead the show downs by a healthy margin. Got a long way to go yet.
