My PHD guiding has gone dodgy-Help

When I do a calibration on a guide star the calibration goes right then back to the star but should then go up and down but it has stopped doing this??????? Once it goes back left I get green lines with no vertical calibration and after a whileI see the star drifting slowly down with no adjustments by PHD guiding??? Any ideas.

Mark

Hi Paul,
That is what I am doing tonight. I have reinstalled software and it would seem that now my only problem is that white fluffy stuff in the sky. Mine seems to be working OK now. I do not know what happened but all of a sudden my PHD stuffed up, my software for the QHY9 would not download images so I don't know what happened. I didn't change anything but all seems back on board now which is great. Adam is working on his this weeekend I think.

good luck with it. Having had similar experiences at work myself, I know just how frustrating it is when updates are made and previously installed software goes " yeah right, in your dreams! Talk to the hand! You want me to do what?"

Updates to improve our work efficiency. In their dreams.

PHD will sometimes turn DEC guiding off after a bad callibration.
It will give a small error message letting you know that it's done it.
But it's pretty easy to miss the message if you're mind is on things like why the hell didn't my callibration work. LOL

I've found all my PHD problems are bad cable connections. I really think someone needs to pay for using those RJ phone sockets as guide sockets. This tak mount uses mini din plugs on the mount for guiding but the stinking camera still has an RJ socket for output and that is the first place I fiddle with. I'm sure they work well if you never touch them, but pulling them apart night after night seems to stuff them. Grrrr....
