While reading through a recent astro mag from overseas, a question occurred to me - is there much of a difference (really!!) between 1.25inch and 2inch eyepieces for viewing or photography?
I only have 1.25inch ep's and my 400d and DMK21 only go into 1.25inch adaptors.
I suspect that the field of view may be a little larger, but I thought that was related to the ep itself (apparent FoV divided by mag).
So, I suppose I am really asking if it is worth the expense to get some 2inch ep's or an appropriate camera attachment.
2" eyepieces are generally offered in long focal lengths (>20mm) and are designed for low power, wide-field viewing while the 1.25" of comparable focal lengths offer narrower FOVs and are cheaper.
I bought 30mm and 40mm 2" eyepieces from Andrews (plus minus violet filters when I use them in a 80mm WO refractor) - as said above, great for widefield views and the prices where very, very affordable!
