Jupiter - Mar 23 from Melbourne in poor conditions

Hi everyone,

Have not posted for some time.

A new laptop is on the way, RGB filters set and a filter wheel are here and SkyNyx 2.0 back at Lumenera in Canada for repairs so until then back to the SPC900.

Great to have Jove back in the sky.

Poor conditions this morning but had to have a go. Approx 300 RGB frames stacked and processed in Registax, AstraImage and Photoshop.

Happy Easter to all of you.

John K.

Poor conditions or not, I'd be happy with that image!

A very good attempt considering the conditions John. Nice details and colours.

I really can't wait for the cooler nights and when Jupiter becomes a night time object.

Well done.

Nicely done John, great to see you back again.

What's wrong with the SKYnyx?

I look forward to seeing what you can do with that when it arrives back.

G'day Mike, the Skynyx had dust on the CCD out of the box. OPT stuffed me around to no end including getting even more dust on the CCD after an attempted repair, so now it's gone back to Lumenera themselves. Still, 3 months later and $A130 in Airfreight costs back and forth twice and still no camera!
However I am hoping there will be a good story at the end of this. My new Dell 2.4 Ghz laptop arrived today and it has a nice 7.2k rpm hard drive for capturing lots of Jove data!
