I know what you mean Ron. Its been howling all day. The transparency is about 100/10 but seeing is about -10/10 . I was watching Vega before and it kept completely disappearing for up to 2 sec. Even Antares at the zenith is jumping all over the place like its sitting on the horizon.

Darn wind. Had my first chance to see Venus this afternoon but it only looked like a smudgy blubbly dot (due to wind, wobbly scope (fixed ) and my own inexperience ). Hope it dies down when my barlow arives.

If you're lucky Chris then tomorrow night will be the night. Expecting cloudy weather for a few days after that and by the weekend the moon will be blasting everything else out of the night sky. Though venus and Jupiter will be two of the few things you'll be able to see clearly in the moonlight. DOSs will be a challenge.

After this wind tomorrow night will hopefully be crystal clear again, but there is no guarantee on the seeing
