Blue Alert
After quite a number of day of seriously garbage weather. There is now a serious outbreak of blue sky occuring at the moment.
Add this to the fact that the jet stream is nowhere to be seen and the temps are in the low 20's and dropping and I think there could be a good night of viewing and imaging about to happen.
I just hope I haven't jinxed myself by getting too excited I'll give it another half hour and then set up.
Cheers

Tonight is an absolutely magic night. Clear sky (again!) and the wind has dropped to zero!!!!
As soon as the Aussies wipe out the Indians in the Twenty20 match I'm out there
The Indians died in their innings
Now it's our turn to clean up completely.

Pouring here. We had over 25 ml in an hour and it is still raining. Too wet to go and look in the rain gauge.

Yep, as predicted I jinxed myself.
The seeing looked around 7 to 8, the stars were pinpoints at high mag during alignment, pre focus was spot on and I took a great set of darks for the evening.
I lined up for a Ha session with Eta Carina and yep, right on cue the clouds rolled in (several lines of expletives are deleted here).
Oh well, that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. I'm all packed up now and it's wall to wall dense cloud.
Maybe tomorrow night.

Don't think I helped Ric, shouldn't have been so cruel to the unfortunates among us. Could also be that my new EQ5 drives have been posted today. Looked outside just now and here they come, all white an fluffy. Karma is a terrible thing.

Hi Bill, I checked the weather site and there is cloud backed up to the S.A. border. I think it might be a quiet week.

I've watching the white fluffys passing by overhead today. I think I'll rate it a mildly optimistic for tonight.
Cheers
