I have the older model 4GT, I think they are reasonable to operate, (quick to setup, no need to collmate) in Alt/Az mode alignment is fairly easy - usually use 2 star - the goto isn't really accurate but does the job, I have had some problems getting EQ mode with the tilt wedge to work. The view is ok, depends how fussy you are. I would try a good ep,(borrow or lend one to compare in your scope) the ones that come as standard I don't like at all, but they may be better these days. Make sure you purchase a small line level or similar - having the mount just level makes the goto a lot better.(it only takes a minute). I think your version has a sky tour function, which should show you what you can see. If you don't have stellarium, download it and tour on nebulae's in the config screen, it will show you some things to find. If you are in a light polluted area you may find the view a bit limiting. Overall it is an ok scope for what it does, however if you are a real enthusiast or become one I think you will want to upgrade after you learn your way around. One thing it is good for is to show a few things to people, friends etc as it is quick to move with the goto. - make sure you have really good rechargable NiMH batteries or rig it up to a 12 volt battery pac.
