Unhappy I've jinxed the wether

I made the decsion and purchased an 8" LX200R. Picked it up on Saturday and since then it's been cloudy! This is my first 'scope since getting into and then out of Astronomy in the early eighties when I had an 8" f8 newtonian reflector on an EQ mount. Can't wait to actually use the new toy!

Great news..about the scope..not the weather...just wait till you get out there set up and have to bring it all in because of the threat of rain...and of course having brought everything back inside it will clear again... its so much fun.

That's our curse. You buy something, it clouds over. You'll be in for a treat when you get that scope under clear skies. Touch wood it's looking good for us here in Sydney on the long range forecast for next weekend.

Just resist the urge to buy accessories for the new toy - at least until after the new moon.

Cheers,
Greg

Nice way for you to get back into the hobby with that scope. As for the curse it wouldn't be so bad if those bl***y clouds actually produced some of the wet stuff!!
