This is quite funny really, and it all come together very well, so to speak.
I had planned to build a lappy hutch, as described in a thread here, and scouted around the house and shed, and presto, there it was a 120 litre plastic storage container, and was quite prepared to steal it, and paint it up until i was spotted, and stopped in my tracks, by Alice.
After much explaining why i needed it, Alice said, just wait until i come back from town before you wreck it, Ok, dear.....you know the story.
Anyway, she, Alice came home with a new one, and it was pitch black, how good is that, didn't have to do anything to it, and she has her storage one back.
I'd better check The Warehouse out tomorrow on my list of things to do before going away. I was trying to avoid going to Maroochydore, it's too close to Officeworks, D1ck Smiths and other fun shops.
Ok Paul, I just assumed you would be at BSG, i suppose, QLD is a little out of my way, but if they have them down here in The Warhouse they probably have them elseware, hope you get one.
I'm mainly looking for one for Solar Imaging, particularly at home. Though this little tent sets up in about a minute, and packs away in about the same time.
If I get a storage box I'll velcro a Thermal Emergency Blanket to the outside with the silver on the outside and it will make a great little hutch . Plus not being painted black I can store and carry stuff in it without worrying about scratching paint off.
Was reading this thread earlier and after playing around in the damp last night started having thoughts on a hutch for my laptop. Here's the result of a couple of hours this afternoon. I had two fold up card tables in the shed, bought 3 metres of black 2m wide poly, 4 x 25mm rubber feet from the hardware and 2 metres of velcro from the sewing shop (couldn't get the heavy duty stuff with sticky back in Coota). All held together with velcro and somewhere around there's a spare piece of 50mm wide loadstrap I can use as a tie down for breezy days, assuming I can find it in the shed . All folds down for easy transport.
Just had an afterthought, if I get 8 little steel 90 deg brackets and a couple of pieces of 6 or 10mm ply I can put a shelf under the bottom table for my eyepieces, and one above the laptop for the star charts and the tables will still fold flat. Time to search the shed again.
