While you cannot "see" what the cat did, you sure can smell and feel it......
I had two containers of all my EP's and my 10x50 waterproof binoculars in a soft case, all inside a big black tub.

The cat pissed in the tub!

EP's didn't get wet, the o'der'cat is slightly smellable, should be ok though. EP's were in a Tupperware container and an old sidcrome socket set metal container.
Watch the For Sale section for some cheap 10x50 binoculars. Slight staining to the body due to cats piss.
Soft cover not available, once again due to cats piss.

Going to get some new binos.

I don't know if it's applicable but I find white vinegar will cut the odour if you still have cleaning to do.



I have 5 cats, I found one of my good welding gloves soaked just yesterday. Nowhere near the value of the gear you're talking about obviously but I have one cat who just does it where she likes, despite her being the mother of 3 of the other cats here and she is the one who taught them to use a litter tray when they were kittens.
I even put a security camera in a doorway to catch her out peeing on a mat in the house and yet they have several clean litter trays in the house. I spend 60% 0f my day cleaning up after and serving cats.
Sadly some cats just like to do what they want where they want.

Many years ago I was told a story of a bloke who, upon deciding it was time to depart home from a party, discovered that the host's tomcat had taken a piss in his motorcycle helmet. After he had put the helmet on.

On a similar note, I was once leaving a friend's place and discovered that their tomcat had taken a piss in my jacket pocket. Said tomcat was rapidly introduced head first to the interior of the pocket with great speed. Oddly enough, he never attempted that trick again...

When you get old, and I am getting close, everything you hear triggers some memory.

In my Sydney house I always closed my lap top..always..and I never let the cat from next door come inside..not once..however this one night that I left the lap top open the cat somehow got in..I have no idea how...and threw up right in the middle of my key board...ruined the lap top...I got over it but it was devastating as I had no back ups...

I certainly was very worried about the cat as no doubt he was trying to attract my attention to help him...poor thing.

I too have read that book. My brother gave it to our sister when her cat died.
Did not end well, still not forgiven 30+ years later.

Well the smell has dissipated from my containers, unfortunately my rubberised binoculars are stained and stinky.
Clearly the cat didn't see the crate delivered last week containing my ne woodchipper.
Clear skies tonight, I'll try and have a look up but l do have a broken hand so l got to be carefull lifting and also not dropping anything.

Wouldn't kicking the cat have been safer than hitting it and breaking your hand?
Don't go straining the hand and doing more damage, do what you can comfortably do and look after your hand.
The pain of improperly healed broken bones last for life. I know this from personal experience.
