Am planning a second "Astronomy in the Bible" topic sub-titled "The Sting of the Scorpion," borrowing that title from a book with that name.
will be planning on running it 7-10 days after new moon, on a night that Scorpio is about 45 degree high in the east,
I do use Stellarium, but have not worked out how to find how high constellations are above the horizon. need that hight as where I plan to have the program has talk trees.

Hi John,
In Stellarium
I would ....
1.
Choose an object/star (within your constellation) using the Search icon function (F3)
2.
Set mount type to Azimuthal (NOT Equatorial) icon (or Control M) as it's easier to read the azimuth and elevation in that mode
3.
Open the Date/Time function via Icon or (F5)
4.
Scroll the date and time over months etc.... to answer your question of where will it be when.
Have fun
Best
JA
P.S: I checked from 27 June 2023 at 7pm it will be > 45°, heading ~90° (East),
using Antares as a reference point
