Parkes Moon & Planets - 22 & 23 Feb

Just back from a long trip around the countryside. Spent a few days in Parkes so "The Dish" was a must.

First night was totally unplanned, actually went out just to capture the Dish looking west around sunset, only to be photobombed by the Moon & Venus.
Canon 70D - 300mm F4

The second night was a little more planned after seeing that the Moon, Jupiter & Venus would all be there, so went a little wider, though I wish I had taken my 100mm lens or swapped the camera over at least. Not sure how well it will come out in the compressed images, but in the originals I can actually see a couple of Jupiter's moons.
Canon 6D - 50mm @ F2.8

Many more images to go through yet, but I think I need a few days to recover from the holiday.

Cheers,
Mark

Now that's the kind of photobomb I could live with! Very neatly done on both.

Mark,
Super cool shots! This place is where my love for astronomy came about way back in 1986 on a family holiday on the way to Queensland.
Thanks for posting-
