Skywatcher AZ3 / Saxon EQ1 or basic manual tripod/mount

Hello,

I posted about this a year or more ago and a kind soul said they had one, but then we all got locked down and with the subsequent joys of Covid I forgot to follow up. I’m hoping someone might be able to help me now.

I’m looking for a basic tripod and mount to put my old Orion fat boy scope on to take on holidays down the coast. Just so I can look at the moon with the kids. We moved to a house in the forest so I ended up selling my main setup, but still have the little Orion I used for tracking, which is a nice little scope in its own right!

Something like the Skywatcher AZ3 or Saxon EQ1 would be perfect.

It’s mounted on a narrow dovetail bar, so ideally a mount head that could take that. Here’s a some pics of the scope with mounting bar I have.

I am in Sydney, so could possibly come collect if nearby. Post would be preferred though if possible.

If anyone can help I’d be very grateful. I miss looking up.

Cheers, Chris

Hi, I have an EQ3 with a tripod, but missing bolts for that Tripod. The EQ3 has three different setting circles on it. I removed its 140mm clamshell, but there are bolt holes where that went.

$90 plus postage would sound good to me. But may come down at Christmas, not sure yet.
