EQ6-R Pro Mount - Melbourne

Hi all,

I've had an upgrade in the mount department, so my EQ6-R Pro is looking for a new home.

This is the USB version so you don't even need an EQMOD cable, just grab an old USB-B lead and plug it in.

Most of the ads I've seen for EQ6-Rs say that the mount hasn't been used - well, this is not one of those ads. This mount has been my workhorse for the last 18 months and it has been faultless and unshakeable. It has spent a lot of time outside both in use and under a scope cover. There is evident surface rust on bolts etc. It doesn't affect performance in any way, but allow yourself an hour with a wire brush if you want to clean that off. I have also lost the cap that covers the polar scope, and so immediately sealed that over with tape. I haven't tracked down a spare yet so I'm leaving the tape in place just so everything is nice and protected. If you're using a computer or an ASIAIR then you won't be using the polar scope just as I didn't, so it shouldn't be an issue for you.

The mount also comes with a 240v power supply to plug the cig lead into - if you've read the reviews you'll know these mounts can be a bit finicky about their power, so I'm throwing in the exact power supply I've been using to drive it all this time.

Update: Pier sold separately

Brand new these mounts are going for $2700, if you can find one in stock.

For mine I am asking $1900 all in - that's 33% off new on the mount and more than half price on the power supply and pillar.

I do have the original boxes for the mount and tripod under the house so I am open to shipping at the buyers expense via Pack & Send... I don't think we want to know what Australia Post would charge for this!

Oh, the two counterweights that came with it are included. I do have a third weight which you can make me an offer for if you're looking at running heavier payloads (or just want the freedom to keep your mass centralised with the counterweights as close to the axis as possible).

If you want to take a squizz at one of my most recent pics using this mount, here one is: https://www.astrobin.com/full/d0lcwb/0/

Please PM if you're interested or have questions. And please look through the photos - I have made sure the pictures show the rust patches so that there are no surprises. Thanks.
