Starting School

Back to school week, this week..

On Tuesday, Jacob went back to school, year 2. Should be an interesting year - he was in a year 1/2 composite last year and ended up doing the year 2 syllabus, and finished at the top of the year 2's.

So hopefully his teacher this year will continue to extend him and keep challenging him.

Yesterday, Eliza started kindergarten! Her first day at school! She did really well. No problems separating, no tears from Eliza. She was looking forward to it. Tears from my wife, Kate, though.. Only 1 kid at home, now! Life is changing!

Eliza seems to have a nice teacher.. but she has only 6 girls in her class, with 13 boys! They'll have to create their own little girl gang to get back at the big group of boys! She should have a good year, too.. she's already reading independantly, so she'll enjoy getting challenged too.

They grow up so quick!

Thanks for letting me share this with you

School is well and truly back in session...congratulations to all of the new young scholars out there!

My two boys started back to school as well...year 4 (Campbell) and year 1 (Thomas)...man I feel old.

Campbell is in a year 4-5 composite...I hope it is a bit more challenging for him as he found year 3 was a bit boring and frustrating.

The really neat thing at our school is the Year 5 and Year 6 students are asked to be "Buddies" with the new Kindergarten students...as part of the composite class Campbell was asked to a be "buddy" too.

He was quite proud of being asked to be a buddy and he met his new Kindergarten buddy for the first time this morning. I've been hearing all about it since I got home from work...it was quite a day!
