Clouds

Hi, there were some unusual cloud formations late yesterday afternoon above my home was hoping to capture a 'sun pillar' instead some 'rays' look interesting still.

Very nice Venus, keep looking out for the sun pilars, they're awesome to see and image.

Thanks RB and Iceman, when I observe such amazing phenomena I just want to capture it or freeze time but I'm not an expert with the camera so I don't think I do the image justice.

Thanks Petra..... clouds are interesting phenomena these crepuscular rays only lasted a few minutes just like 'sundogs' and 'pillars' tend to, so I was lucky I guess to get thoes shots, had I tried to even contemplate playing with settings on the camera I would have had no chance of capture.

Yes, totally agree - you have got to snap them fast.

I usually head up to our local lookout if there are a hint of cloud in the air in the afternoon to capture some sunset and cloud shots.

I will get the courage up and post a few of my cloud pics after the VicSouth Star Party.

Catch you soon..

Cheers Petra
