qhy 22 first light

First colour image with the qhy 22 mono.

there were difficulties with my mount (needed to re adjust the stupid eq8 clutch levers and i couldn't find the right allen key - so it was drifting) so i had to shoot something bright considering i had planned an allnighter - that left pretty much M42 (sorry! but atleast i have changed up the colour).

these are only 30sec -1 min exposures 5 or 6 in each of Ha S2 and O3. hopefully next time everything will be running smoothly...

but yes i can tell i am going to enjoy learning mono (once my equipment is working properly!!).

You're up and running nicely. We like the blue/yellow one.

I remember the Dec clutch slipping on my EQ6. Bite snarl scratch. But it was a great mount otherwise.

QE of over 70% ! Wow! Looking forward to seeing lots of pix.

Best,
Mike

Thanks Slawomir, not what i had in mind because of the mount problems better than walking away from an entire night with something rather than nothing! (esp with a new camera!)

thanks Mike, i guess it is a trip to bunnings buying up all the small allen keys i can find to rectify the problem. there was no shortage of expletives said on thursday night as i did take friday off work to allow an alnighter but onwards and upwards - thats astrophotography the wonky 15 min subs in Ha i have done on B33 and tarantula sucked up some seriously faint photons - i was really impressed. fingers crossed next outing i will be 100% up and running.

Thanks Ray, for all your help - the Universe it seems never really allows a smooth transition into new gear does it? even the old gear gets in on the action

here is a slighty different version - (used RegiStar to align the channels)
at least im getting some practice on processing.
