Hi John,
I looked around for a stockist as well but was not able to find any in Sydney.
However a few did advise me that it would be cheaper to download and burn to CD which is what I did.
It's a great program, but theres a lot to learn it in it.

cheers

Hi, again,
I just downloaded MaximDL for a trial, but I can't get my Meade DSI Pro II to come up on the screen.......just a bunch of black and white wavy pictures.
Adjusting the exposure etc doesn't seem to do much to bring a picture up...
I have the camera type set to Meade DSI etc, but nothing is happening.

any clues??

cheers
John

Hi John, do you have the latest files and drivers from the ascom site.
I went there and downloaded them as well and set it all up before I used my DSI II and I have had no problems except for the usual user errors attributed to me and not the camera or software.

cheers

Hi John, I forgot to add the website. Maxim also has a very comprehensive help file and tutorial section as well, both online and in the downloaded trial.

http://ascom-standards.org/downloads.html

Hope this helps

I actually didn't think it came with a hard copy manual. Perhaps v3 did. You may want to try http://www.atscope.com.au/, they are a reseller of MaximDL, along with the "very best" money can buy cameras, mounts and telescopes.

I do agree with the comments of the other members. The online manual is great.

I was just having a look at the walkthroughs on the starizona site, they are quite good and picked up a few extra tips myself.

good stuff
