Looking for astro community near Maryborough (Vic)

Have recently rekindled my interest in astronomy after many years of hibernation. As a youngster ground and polished an 8" mirror but was never able to complete the telescope construction and have lovingly carried the mirror around with me through many moves and stages in my life.
Now well into retirement and living in Geelong and eyeing through some S&Ks a few years back at our local library I was amazed at the sophistication, variety and affordability of modern equipment for amateurs not to mention the great results many are achieving particularly in the field of astrophotography.
Inspired I bought a basic secondhand refractor and a new Sky Prodigy 6". We live in a unit without a decent level and open backyard area to set up and the front is dominated by a street light. Even driving to a suitable area was disappointing due to the level of general light pollution and the grey skies down here which limited opportunities. The Sky Prodigy worked perfectly on those limited occasions and just whetted my appetite for more but setting up the refractor for a bit of photography was a bit beyond my ability with limited time and opportunities I had.
Rather frustrated with these limited opportunities to learn and progress and with a very understanding wife I decided that my super could best serve me with something useful rather than sitting in a fund going up and down and worrying the hell out of me, so I lashed out and bought a small country property near Maryborough (Vic). We intend to use it as a part time base to combine astronomy with my other interest in gold prospecting.
We have just taken possession of our observatory (Whoops I mean property) and after some necessary chores around the place and when the winter chills and heavy dews ease hope to have things set up for some good observing and learning towards my goal of astrophotography.
I am keen to meet with other astronomy inclined people in the area and also of any nearby astronomy clubs or society which I could join.
