Last night, about 23.00 NZT
The 8" came along to keep me entertained during quiet periods. Saturn rock solid at 240x. Crunchy snow underfoot. Beautiful night.

Sheep cannon, eh? It does look a bit like muzzle flash I suppose.

This spot is still close to the coast and the night was calm so it didn't feel too cold. The MacKenzie Basin further inland, where I regularly go to observe, had dropped to below minus 20 degrees the previous night.
