Four More Fuzzies

Hi Guys,

First I would like to very much thank theodog, raymo and guggle for their encouragement and comments on my first post.

These pictures may not rank as the best in the world, but compared to my efforts 40 years ago on 2415 hyper-sensitized film, they just blow my mind. In those days the skies of Boronia were dark.

Light Polluted Skies of Boronia, Melbourne
Celestron C11 (standard the not Edge HD)
Canon 1000D
Generally Lights 60 x 1 minute, 10 x Darks, 10 Flats, plus 10 Bias frames

Looks like there's something to work with there.
Maybe start with the originals and brightening up and backing off the contrast a little.
Although apparently light polluted, the background seems very dark. It could be much brighter than this.
Again -nice starts keep going and you'll get there.

I like the first two especially.

this webpage may be of use in helping you get a good colour balance and avoiding black clipping.

I like your Running man Peter
Looks like there is some black clipping in there though you might be losing some detail.
A mistake i was making was black clipping to hide poor gradients noise banding things like that.

Hi Michael,

Gradients I can take care off, noise is another case altogether. I have only recently discovered dithering and a few other techniques which might improve the situation.
