Eclipse Blood Moon from Auckland.

2 secs @ ISO 400 on the 450D and Lunt 102mm F7 ED.
Stayed up till 3 am, paid for it the next night though. Went to bed at 8pm, woke up 7 am !! Glad it was a 4 day weekend !!

I've also created a short 20 + frame mpg file from a few of the 850 frames I took. Tried to load up to FB but it must be too big, 6-7 megs.
My freebie website doesn't do video unfortunately.

And an adjusted 'Blue' moon from the same image.
The blue component comes from light scattered through earths ionosphere which bends less than the red component. Found this out from a member of the NZ Astronomers group who posted a pic of it so had a play with one of my images in levels.

Interesting, who knew hey ? The earth is a big achromatic lens ..
