TS Flattener

Hi guys,

I'm looking at getting a flattener that won't affect the focal length of my scope (WO FLT98) and found one from telescope service that will fit directly on to the focuser and leave me plenty of room to throw an OAG and filter wheel in later down the track if I go that way.
But I'm struggling to find information/reviews regarding it's build and optical quality etc. (see link below)

http://www.teleskop-express.de/shop/...ollformat.html

The sample image on the site suggests it does a good job, but I'm hoping someone on here might have more information or maybe even have used one before.

Any suggestions or hints would be great.

Cheers,
Bret

I haven't used this particular flattener but I have purchased a corrector for my refractor from this mob. They know their stuff and sell quality items. If in doubt about this model and its results for your particular scope, send them an email and ask if this model is suitable. They might advise otherwise for another model or just ok this one.

Thanks Marc.

That's good to hear, I'll send them an email just to be sure

Thanks Slawomir. Those look great!
Not to get sidetracked but that Sony 814 sensor is what I would probably upgrade to right now if I had a spare few thousand dollars lying around

Thank you Bret.

Yes, this sensor works very well with my refractor. Was originally thinking about getting a camera with ICX694, but VERY happy that I eventually went for ICX814.

As for my TS flattener, it works well with small sensors (Atik 428 and QSI690), but I have no idea how well would it perform with larger sensors.

I doubt I'll ever be going larger than an APS-C sensor so I'm not too worried about 35mm sensor compatibility or anything like that.
I would eventually like to make the move to a CCD and something around the size of the ICX814 is what I would be aiming for, so field correction across a sensor that size shouldn't be a drama.

TS just got back to me and said their 2.5" flattener would be the way to go with an adapter that allows it to sit inside the focuser, avoiding any potential back focus issues.
So I guess now I just need to make sure I definitely don't want a flattener/reducer combination.

Decisions, decisions...haha
