One last crack at the Helix

Managed to get some more data on Helix on Tuesday night - 34 x 5 minute subs at ISO 1600. That is about the limit at my site without using some kind of LP filter. I have stretched it pretty hard and feel this is as far as my rudimentary skills can take it this time around.I will save up for a decent LP filter IDAS LP4 or something, or maybe Ha and OIII filters - who knows?
Now it's off to see what I can do with good old M42 to see how I have improved on my first astro efforts of a year ago. Feel free to advise and comment as always.

Thanks Raymo, some targets suit the modded SLR's like this one and others don't.Carina and Lagoon look too red in modded cameras compared with the stock SLR's. That's why my buddy Mel talked me out of modding my 1000D and I'm glad I didn't. That little 12V screen is a gem of a thing by the way. It has solved my problem of no live view on the 300D. Everything that would normally displayed on the camera LCD is reproduced remotely on the 7" screen and also keeps the camera cooler as the LCD on it is no longer used. Well worth the 40 odd dollars

What do you attach it to? I was thinking that I might Velcro it to the OTA.

On your newt, yeah Velcro would be fine. Just a small bit cause it's very light. Also you may want to change it orientation for different targets. As long as you can see it clearly when you focus.
