I am planning to go up to the Heathcote site, I am wondering whether there is any mobile reception.?

There is reception at the LMDSS. You may want to stand away from the Clubrooms and try around the camping sites.

Telstra wise it is a bit patchy but it is available. At least the last time I got up there.

Hi,
I am in Telstra and during the Galactic Centre Party on September 20 I had signal strength 1-2 bars (out of 5 bars) at the visual observing field.

With Optus signal strength was low and patchy, however walking about the property I found that SMSs were able to be received and sent when you passed a sweet spot. I doubt that a phone call would work using the Optus network from LMDSS.

Last time I was there Optus had zero reception, nada, zip!

Same here, though if you're up in the wee hrs the Optus signal gets a bit better. I like the isolation actually, no annoying calls!

Very patchy reception on Vodafone - toggles between 0 & 1 bar.

Able to send and receive SMS, but not enough signal for calls

I had crap reception, but good reception down on the AP field. (telstra)
