Ngc253

Hi Everyone,

First real attempt at NGC253, 2 hours and 40 minutes with darks flats and bias frames.

Lights are 600 sec ISO 800 on a Central DS 600D camera.

All in all quite happy but feel it is very blue, I think I stuffed the Colour calibration in Pix Insight so I may reprocess this image.

Cheers

Anthony

That looks fine. Most galaxies are bluish with a yellow core and brown dust lanes. I guess some look different to that and are more yellowish but they seem to be the elliptical type. The Scupltor does typically show some brown dusty areas and yellow areas but there should be some blue areas near the edges.

Greg.

Looks Good Anthony

The colour looks fine to me, did you use the stars for the colour calibration or the galaxy itself?

Hi Rod,

Still very much a beginner in Pix Insight so I am not sure really. I have followed Harry's tutorials so what ever he was doing is the way I did it . I suspect this was based on the Galaxy for the white point calibration. I would be keen to understand how to use the stars??

Cheers

Anthony

Good one Anthony, I got some data on this on the weekend (but not as much as I would have liked) and I hope mine comes out this well.
