Got to take my hat off to you John. That is really amazing work and way at the head of the field.

It'll also make a great reference image for locating targets to image.

Thanks.

Greg.

A real feat! Great reference. I wish I had the sky time to do that. Was this all done with the FSQ from Coona?

Fantastic John!

Supreme patience involved here.
Delight to scroll around your 90 segment mosaic.

Cheers,

Justin.

Just incredible. Its also interesting looking at this zoomed right out - reminiscing how M8/M20 and nearby star look at night under dark skies, not to mention the rest of that central milky way mesmerizing view. Whew!

Whoa! That's phenomenal! I really like your circular crop... if only there was a scope with which I could see so much detail

Hi, thank you everyone!

Yes, indeed this was all done from Coonabarabran. Alas, I have run out of time this season to work on the southern portions. Soooo many more segments to complete, I'll get back at it in the fall.

Glad folks also liked the "eyepiece" view. Sorry to say that Al Nagler has not made an eyepiece to do this yet.

cheers

jg

Wow, love how you've presented this John. Its certainly eye catching. I scrolled around your other gigapan image (square version) over the weekend. Really is such an awesome sight. When zoomed in, it easy to lose orientation requiring to zoom back out again. Marvellous work. Looking forward to the southern mission updates next season.

Thanks again everyone for your comments. The image will be on a large touchscreen at the AIC here in Santa Clara the next few days. An old film guy is here too. David Malin I think they said his name was. ;-)

cheers,

j
