versa plate wide config question

PMX'er's - when you rotate the versa plate to the wide config 90 degrees, I assume the home position changes viz the pointing of the scope?
But is it true that once you have homed then synched on a star it will know where it is as it has the two reference points?
Cheers
Graham.

The home position does not change, only the orientation of the versaplate changes (i.e., the broadside of the versaplate points home). Presumably you're also pointing your instruments in the broadside direction as well. Take a look at the solar astronomy outreach pictures from ASAE 2012 on Cloudy Nights and you'll see a Paramount ME in this orientation with a 31-inch long ADM dovetail plate and three dovetail saddles on the versaplate.
