It has been way too long since a last had a chance to shoot any astro stuff and with clear skies and cold temperatures i figured last night was the best chance i had had in a long time. I went for a quick drive south along the freeway/highway from Perth to my favourite little parking bay last night to get the attached shot. All the foreground lighting is thanks to a car with it's high beams on heading south. Pretty sure the banding in the sky is just light from some street lights reflecting off the fog that was moving in.
Hope to get around 300 shots in landscape orientation into a time lapse when i get a chance.
Settings - 30sec @ f/3.2, ISO 4000 on a D800 with 14-24mm f/2.8 lens. I had to use a lens heater (my first time using it) to stop condensation as the temperature dropped quickly.
