Aratula Dark Sky Night.

If any of you are interested in a SE Queensland get together.

I have been given permission for an observing night at our observatory site at Aratula.

We have 2 toilets and 1 shower available. we also have 1 bedroom available, with 2 single beds and maybe 1 other bedroom with a single bed.
I would expect that camping would be the norm.

It is very dark, but we have a problem with the trees in the properties either side of us that restricts our viewing somewhat.

We have limited views to the East, but good viewing for the rest.

Please let me know if you are interested in a dark sky event.

BBQ facilities available.

Mike.

I reckon all you lot should come to Snake Valley, near Ballarat, It's that dark we get a shadow from the Milky Way, and trip over anything that's lying around, cus it's that's dark.

Ken,s always running into stuff, cus it's to dark

Mike

I am certainly interested, it just needs to fit into my schedule. Got some busy few months coming up with Astrofest (are you coming?) and some other dark-weekend viewing I am committed too, but you never know. I might be more interested in a weekend either side of the "nearest new moon weekend", if that is feasible. Will the BBQ facilities be furnished with your infamous snags?

Maybe some sausages could turn up, you never know with snags, they can be stubborn at times.
