Stanwell Beach

This weekend I ventured into the Royal National Park looking for inspiration. This lead me to Stanwell beach, just down the hill from Stanwell Tops where hang gliders take off on most days.

The sky was very bright so detailed Milky Ways were not an option, so instead I opted for a long exposure with trailing.

As a bonus when I was stepping over rocks I noticed the reflection of the moon in a small pool of water, took a couple of goes but I think I got it.

That moon shot is pretty amazing. How did you focus?

Thanks Marc, it was a bit tricky, I had someone else shinning a torch from a distance on the rock as I focused though the viewfinder whilst holding the camera steady using a 50mm, took 7 or 8 shots to get it right. To the naked eye the moon was clearly visible on the reflection, you could easily make out the mares and craters, with that in mind I didn't quite get what I wanted and saw.
