The seeing was pretty horrendous early on but I waited it out for awhile to see what would come of it. It kind of came good, but it was very random. Only one final worth posting out of 14.
That's a great image. The grey band under the GRS is interesting - about a month ago it seemed to end at the GRS however now it extends well beyond the edge of GRS.
It is also interesting that this band does not rotate around the entire planet. Do you know if this is common?
How do you get the orange belt so vibrant? I tried and tried with my pics but could never get overall colour balance right. They either look too red or too blue.
Sebastian - I make 100% certain my balance is correct before capture time (via the colour histogram with hardware debayer mode ON) And then all I do is give the end result some 12 points of saturation in post processing.
Yes Chris the DBK21AU618.AS - DBK618 for short as in my first post.
I think this is pretty well my Jupiter swan song. Unless I get some exceptional seeing, it's ADIOS big guy!
Well you maybe would (or maybe not) have seen my recent wanted add for a C14, Chris...To tell you the truth though, I'm more than happy at what this C11 can pull out of it's hat resolution wise. You've heard of freak optics? This baby has got them I believe. It just continues to impress in nice seeing.
A really nice image Asi, the band of colour in the EZ is interesting, I think last apparition it would sort of come & go, maybe a seasonal thing. Just this morning in my email, Paul Maxon from the US and Dave Tyler from the UK sent out Jup images, Paul's from Feb Th & Dave's from March 2nd; there was only a hint of that band in Paul's Feb 14th data while it is quite prominent in Dave's March 2nd data, which is very similar to your image. It would be interesting to see what happens over the next few weeks but, as you have mentioned, it is becoming quite a challenge from OZ.
