Hi all,
Weather has not been the greatest lately, but I have been able to get a few images with the new camera. While not perfect (still a fair bit to get used to with the new setup) I have been able to produce some fairly high resolution imagery. Enough to start working on cinematic videos, something I've been waiting awhile to be able to do.
I will be honest, I don't completely know a great deal about processing monochrome images, apart from what I have learnt recently from these forums and other similar ones. If my reds look a little strange, I am colour blind and this can sometimes be an issue. The Horsehead nebula is a HaR(Ha)GB image, there is no true luminance used, I have tried as best as possible to avoid salmon pink without modifying any of the true data present in my raw images.
The cinematic was produced with a total of 3 still images that exceeded the native 1080p of the video. The excess pixel data allowed for some pretty cool exploration of the regions captured. All imagery captured from my backyard here in Canberra during the few clear nights of January / February.
As time progresses and I learn more about processing, cinematic production, and how to use the equipment to its full potential, I intend to produce more cinematics exploring many more targets.
Space and the cosmos is a truly remarkable sight to behold, I think the more people who can see / experience some aspects of it, the better. It is my intention to use these videos and share them with people who don't normally visit forums like this or have much awareness of what is actually out there.
