I have a beginners 114mm Newtonian with an Eq mount ( minus weights) that I have no use for. Its not worth much on the open market.
Any Ideas what to do with it or who might want it?

You could always give it away to a worthy cause, like a local school. The problem is that those flimsy EQ mounts are really difficult to use, so you may not actually do them a favour…
If the OTA is decent it may be worth turning into a table-top Dob.
I modified the spider on my old 114mm to reduce diffraction spikes and it's actually quite a reasonable astrograph. Had to adjust mirror height a bit for focal length. Pretty easy.
The EQ mount is sitting in the garage gathering dust though. I had thought of using it for a widefeild camera mount where SCP alignment and tracking accuracy is not so critical. I added a motor to the RA drive so it actually doesn't do too bad. One rainy day I'll sort it out and give it a go.
