A long long time ago, in a country town far far away..

Hi All,

I was talking to my oldest son (who is 12) about astronomy, and he asked, when was the first time you looked through a telescope? I had to think really hard. I told him that i remembered I was about 8 years old, my son then dissapeared and about an hour later he ran back to me with a photo he found in a old photo album.. it was my first telescope and the old cane chair i use to observe in!!! my mother bought it for me on my 8th birthday, I remember looking at the moon just about every night it was visible.
so I thought id share .. and yes the scruffy redhead is me

Lovely! What memories. Is that an adobe brick wall? It looks great. I think pussy is suffering from an excess of love.

Cool! It's always nice to be able to have a photo to back up memories like this.

It is a mud brick house, which was built by the previous owner (had to ask my mother to get the answers) the walls where just on 10 inches thick, which kept the temperature very cool in summer, and warm in winter.

Just dont wash your bicycle leaning up against the wall, i learned that the hard way, and a wooden spoon on my backside to boot
