Issue with IIS on Firefox

Just noticed a couple of, probably related, issues when using these forums with Firefox.

Issue 1: When I create a new thread, if I click "Preview Post" it does the preview ok but the message text field is empty. I have to copy-paste the text from the preview back into the text field before submitting the post.

Issue 2: if I click "Quote" or the " buttons when replying to a post the text field will be empty.

These issues happen on Firefox 20.0 on Linux and Firefox 23.0.1 on Windows 8. The issues aren't present in Chrome on Win8.
I'm pretty sure this started happening after the recent server crash/restore.

Just FYI I'm running FF23.0.1 on win 7 x 64 bit and nothing unusual when I test it.

As Al says, I don't see either of these with FF23.0.1 on Win7-64, and I can't find a recent FF that runs on slackware64-13.0 to try that.

Hmm... seems to happen with some threads and not others. On my Helix repro thread (http://www.iceinspace.com.au/forum/s...d.php?t=111379) if I click quote on IanP's comment I get a blank text field but if I do the same for Jorge's comment it works fine. Maybe the forum software is refusing to re-quote MS Comic Sans

I just clicked quote on a few random posts and couldn't recreate the problem. But then I tried a few of IanP's posts and it worked sometimes and not others so perhaps there's some tag/s he's using that aren't playing nicely...?
EDIT: I should add that clicking quote on IanP's post works fine in chrome on Win8

As for the similar thing happening when I create a new thread I've just tried to recreate it and haven't had the problem again. I did have it on the last 4 or so I've created though (except this one, I didn't click preview...)

Just tried your thread...

First 2 posts come up blank in quote or edit.

The third post (Jorge's) is fine in both quote and edit.

Post 4 (your second) brings up your text in quote and edit but not the embedded quotes in that post.

Doesn't mean anything to me, but might help someone work out what's going on.

I suspected something to do with a bold font, hence the edit test but I couldn't see of the font was really bold... it didn't show up.

Glad it's not just me then!

I don't think it's a BOLD tag, the tag's he's used are: {SIZE=3} {FONT=Comic Sans MS} {COLOR=black}
( I've used { } instead of [ ] )

Al, I've never seen it quote a quote. If you want to do that you have to quote both the post to which you wanted to reply and the post(s) it quoted and then cut/paste into the right place. That works to give pseudo-nested quotes. eg using {} to stop the rendering:
{quote}reply text
{quote}quoted text{/quote}
more reply text{/quote}
appears as
Quote:
reply text
Quote:
quoted text
more reply text

Correct, quote doesn't, but edit does.
