M27, a view from the windy city of Brisbane

Hello everyone!!

Well I've always avoided taking images of anything to the north of my backyard as they tend to be directly over Griffith Uni and in turn the Brisbane CBD. However, as I've always been interested in the Dumbbell Nebula I thought I'd give capturing this object a go. So move to last night, a wonderfully clear night here in Brisbane. The only problem was that there was a very gusty breeze blowing most of the night!!

Anyway I persevered and captured 50, three minute images over a three hour period, about all the time that M27 is visible between the lilli-pilli tree and next-door's palm tree.

I really had to work hard with the processing considering the amount of light-pollution that I was shooting through so I'm fairly happy with the end result. Hopefully I haven't over-worked the processing - I feel I've gone to the edge without going over!!

Cheers,
Mario

Marc, I did spend a lot of time on getting the colours and detail just right so it's nice to have someone compliment me on that aspect - thank you!!
