Processed this only in Registax, seems there was some features in there I have never used.....ooops!
I am quite happy with this camera, the sensitivity is amazing compared to the toucam. I tested a 5 sec sub on the keyhole in Eta Carinae and apart from the bloated stars, I could see heaps of nebulosity....
May have to try some longer exposures for a laugh.
ummm.....well, because there were sucker holes that lasted about 20-40 seconds and I was testing gain and exposure settings and trying Mars, Moon and Saturn depending on which one was visible.
After a while the blanket closed in and I couldnt even see the moon, so I packed up.
I might have a bash at combining some AVI's as I took them close together, but the seeing was so rubbish Registax threw away 50% of this set.

You should give AS!2 a go for stacking. I used registax for years, and it blows it out of the water for ease of use. In my opinion anyway.
oh oh oh, While you're in the vicinity (Eta Carina) how about trying for the Homunculous Cloud. Pretty please. I'd love to see what you pull out of the hat with that.

I'll give AS!2 a go Jeanette, god knows I have every other processing and capture app on this pc, now with the addition of IS Capture AS, I have Registax 6, Nebulosity (2 AND 3), CCDCAP, Astrowin, Virtualdub, PCFE, GIMP, K3CCDTools, Backyard EOS, DSS, WXastrocapture, Startools and......wait for it.......Adobe PS CS3!!!! Doesnt help me process any better, especially on DSO's but I think I get points for trying....maybe???
I can give the Homunculous a go, that's what I tested the spectral response and sensitivity on but it was early on in the night and I didnt save it....at 640 x 480 for 5 secs, the nebula was almost full frame and ETA was blazing. Trouble is, I may need an IR filter (I am using my 1.25" Baader moon and skyglow on it at the moment) as without it, all the stars bleed red and overcook in seconds. This DBK isnt fitted with an IR filter....
The DBK is quite adept at picking up nebulosity but its VERY noise prone on longer exposures.....I will try tomorrow night I think if I am too lazy and tired tonight to give it some tests on DSO stuff....
Glad you liked my Planetary effort, you kicked up some dust as you whizzed past me with your DSLR and 4x powermate a while back....still blowing the dirt out of my nose.....
Yep, the image quality and sensitivity is amazing compared to the toucam, which wasnt bad for what it was, however, seeing 5x more stars in the guidescope AND colour, blows your mind....
