We are pleased to announce a new series of official PixInsight video tutorials we have in production. The first instalment of this series is a processing example by Vicent Peris, with an LRGB image of NGC 1808 acquired by Jack Harvey and Steven Mazlin (SSRO). You can watch the two parts of this tutorial in HD720p format on our website:

Hi Chris,

PixInsight user and forum member Steve Allan has authored a video tutorial to describe the construction of a large 12-frame mosaic in PixInsight:

The image covers a wide region centered on the North America and Pelican nebulae. The tutorial is a thorough description of the process to generate a large seamless mosaic with StarAlignment and Georg Viehoever's new GradientsMergeMosaic tool. Great thought to share these Chris.
Don't think I could cope with the trauma of mosaics without PI now. Vidoes certainly a great way to communicate tricky concepts and complex tool names.

I keep getting these mails as well ... how do you stop them . there is no unsubscribe entry on any of them ...

As a user of PixInsight, I certainly appreciate the emails I receive from them to tell me about new releases or tutorials. They don't send many, and certainly none annoyingly advertising their product. With the plethora of emails coming in every day from a thousand and one sources, I can understand that it's preferable for some to rely on website visitation from time to time to keep up instead partaking of the email service.
