Anyone have a C14 and want to try Hyperstar?

I have come onto possession of a Hyperstar setup for a Fastar Compatible C14, and was wondering if anyone wanted to try it out.
I have the Meade 10" ACF, and a C8 and have been interested in going the Hyperstar route, but would really like some feedback on what they are like to use, especially from a beginner point of view.

If anyone wants to try it out, I can loan it to them for a month or so to have a go.

It is for the classic C14, not the Edge Models.

Hyperstar won't work with Meade ACF model SCT's. Wrong optics.

Good to know, I guess that only leaves my C8 then as a possibility.

It is easy to convert a C14 version to an Edge version - it is just the bottom ring that the collimating screws connect with - there is a fidderence in theior thickness and you just unscrew the 3 collimating screws, drop off one and put the other in its place and screw up the 3 screws. That's it.

Also, each Hyperstar lens is made to suit the scope it's meant to fit to...the C14 Hyperstar won't fit any other scope. You'd have to buy the Hyperstar for the C8.

Yes, I understand that.
I was just offering a C14 version to any C14 owners to 'have a go' with it, and share their results.
I was just after feedback what imaging with Hyperstar was like in general, to try and decide if it was worth purchasing a Hyperstar for my C8.

I just happen to have a C14 Hyperstar assembly. Just no C14 to try it out on... yet...

I have the C11 model. For a C8 I reckon it's ok if your camera is not obstructing the aperture too much as it's a smallish scope but nowadays they're pretty much all cylindrical like the QHYs or SX models. It'd be harder with a QSI or older QHY8 or even QHY9 for example.

Is hyperstar worth the money? Yeah. Every cent.

Typically no more than 5min subs. Mostly 30s to 1min are adequate exposures. You wouldn't need to even guide with a reasonably good tracking mount. To give you an example 1x1min with the C11/Hyperstar combo will give me as much signal as 1x15min with my 5" newt which is F/5 in Hydrogen Alpha.
