NGC6744 In Pavo

NGC 6744 also known as Caldwell 101 is an spiral galaxy about 30 million light years away in the constellation of Pavo. It is considered one of the most Milkyway-like spiral galaxies in our immediate vicinity.

Taken at a Dark site along the Morningtion Peninsula on 20 acres.

15 x 2 minute subs + Master Flat and Dark.

Unguided using an NEQ6pro.

Newtonian 8' astrograph @ F/4

Pentax K-x @ iso 1600.

Processed with DSS beta PS CS2.

You must have got a pretty good polar alignment there.

Well done for the setup and image. Stars look sharp too.
